NHS Swindon CCG - Case Study

Summary of Work

Technology Box provided a suite of IT and communication services for a newly created NHS organisation. This included security, fibre optic connectivity, cloud services and Voice-over-IP.

Client's Commercial Situation

Swindon Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) became responsible for buying healthcare for Swindon and Shrivenham residents in April 2013. The organisation worked from temporary sites until moving into a new building in March 2014.

Client's Technical Situation

  • Swindon CCG had no pre-existing equipment of its own, and CCG staff needed to work from remote sites using a range of NHS hardware before moving into dedicated office space. This meant that the project delivery had to be very adaptable.
  • Staff are drawn from a variety of different locations so flexible working is essential.
  • The CCG building also hosts a referral management call centre.
  • Security, privacy and disaster recovery are critical. All systems had to comply with NHS security criteria.

  • Supplied Office 365 and integrated with on premises systems.
  • Supplied and installed Swyx VoIP telephone system
  • Supplied on premises document management and email archiving software.
  • Lastly we have provided ongoing support for all of the above over the last two years.
